The Certification committee promotes and encourages participation in the Certified Professional Secretary/Certified Administrative Professional programs by hosting reviews classes in each of the exam areas.
The Harrisburg Chapter is pleased to announce that it will hold certification classes for the May 2012 testing dates. Take the Certification Class and earn your Certified Administrative Professional® (CAP®) and Organizational Management Speciality® (OM®). Classes begin, Wednesday, September 21, 2011 through Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Review sessions are being held at Presbyterian Senior Living, Learning Center, Dillsburg PA. Harrisburg Chapter IAAP Certification Review Class Members are planning to take the exam at Kaplan University, Hagerstown, MD on May 5, 2012.
A goodie bag will be prepared for the 7 individuals traveling to Hagerstwon in May. Any goodie items like chocoate, pencils, small tissue packs, hand sanitzer, crackers, etc., can be donated by bringing your items to the January, February, March or April meeting and given to Nancy Deibler, CAP-OM.

Changes to the IAAP certification and recertification programs were announced at EFAM in Boston. Information on these changes can be found at this link. Changes to the certification program are effective with the November 2011 exams. Changes to the recertification program were effective July 2010.

Metcalf Educational Services will be updating their review materials for the new exams. Once we have tentative dates for those revisions we will post that on our web site. Prentice Hall will not be providing review materials for the new exams.
Registration Forms for those candidates eligible to retake current exam parts in May 2011 will be mailed from Kansas City MO around January 15. Retake candidates and new applications need to have their documents and fees into Headquarters’ office by February 15.
